About the Role
Powered by People is hiring Campus Organizer Interns for the 2026 summer and fall semesters to be our primary bridge to the student body. Your mission is to get us in the door by navigating university bureaucracy to secure high-traffic space and, where applicable, building a foundation for a permanent Powered by People student chapter. This is a role designed for students who are ready to build grassroots power on their home turf. Open to students currently enrolled at public or private universities across Texas.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the authorized student contact to book tabling spaces through the university’s scheduling or student activities office
- Work 2–3 tabling shifts per week to mobilize voters according to Powered by People’s process (registering and staying touch with voters)
- Assist the Regional Organizer in founding an official Powered by People student chapter, where applicable, including identifying potential student leaders and faculty advisors
- Complete mandatory Powered by People training and maintain weekly checkins with your Regional Organizer to report metrics and share campus-specific feedback
- Assist Regional Organizer with campus specific organizing tasks, as needed
- Where applicable, support non-campus regional organizing efforts at community events, churches, concerts, etc.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled student with the ability to reserve on-campus space on behalf of Powered by People
- Strong communication skills and a builder mindset—comfortable navigating administrative hurdles and approaching peers
- Reliable, organized, and able to work independently with remote supervision
- Strong commitment to Powered by People’s mission of expanding voter access in Texas
- Willingness to obtain Volunteer Deputy Registrar Certification in the county where your university resides
Compensation & Benefits
- Part-time internship (5–10 hours per week)
- Stipend of $75/week
